Enroll now in the highly acclaimed and nationally recognized self-defense program known as R.A.D.
What is RAD
RAD stands for Rape Aggression Defense and is a Women's Self Defense Class. This program is a hands-on course designed to emphasize confidence and self discipline while developing & enhancing options of self-defense.
This course will teach basic self-defense techniques and emphasize common sense approaches to safety on campus. Classes are taught by certified instructors from URecFit & University Police.
Course Dates
This session will run from February 28- April 5. This is a 12-session course that meets twice a week. A simulation class will be scheduled the week following the last session.
Class Times
The 55-minute class meets Tuesday and Thursday. There is a noon class (12p-1p) and an evening class (5:30-6:30p).
Course Materials
All participants receive a 65 page manual.
Course Fee
$ 10 - UMB Students, URecFit Members, UMB Staff, UMMC Staff, and UMB Affiliates.
$ 20 - Outside General Public.
Class RegistrationComplete the registration process. You will receive a ticket via email. Please bring this to the first class.
Course Location
The classes are held in Room LL02 of the Health Sciences & Human Services Library (HSHSL). HSHSL is located at 601 W. Lombard Street next to the SMC Campus Center.
Completion of Course
All particpants who finsih the course will receive a Certificate of Merit. This allows the individual to attend any other RAD basic course in the country at no cost (to keep the skills fresh).
